Tiff and Tom's Rabbitry is a small family run hobby breeding program named for our first two rabbits, Tommy and Tiffany. We breed our rabbits for pet homes and are passionate about helping people learn how to properly care for their bunnies both for the sake of their bunnies and for their own enjoyment of them!
Our current breed focus is on Lionheads and Holland Lops. While we're new to this world (we got our start in 2021) we're working hard to learn all we can about breeding to standards and protecting the work of so many experienced breeders across our nation. We know there's a lot of learning ahead of us but we're enjoying the process and are grateful to the breeders who've helped us know where to find answers to our many many questions. Tiff and Tom's Rabbitry is a registered member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA), the Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty Club (HLRSC), and of the North American Lionhead Rabbit Club (NALRC).
Our family purchased our first rabbit almost a decade ago from a local pet store. Tom is a sweet Gray Dutch buck. While the pet store was a wonderful business, like many of us in the US they didn't know a lot about pet rabbit care at the time we purchased Tom. They sold us a large hamster cage, a small corner litter box, some shavings, a water bottle, and a lot of Timothy based pellets. Knowing what we know now, Tom was also too young to be weaned at the time he was sold to us.
When we think back to Tom's early years we feel horrible for how limited he was during his most energetic time. We had no idea how intelligent he was, that he could litter box train, or that he needed as much exercise as rabbits do. When we gave Tommy a larger habitat and provided him with regular exercise he came to life! It was like we had a brand new rabbit! He didn't actually need to be trained to go potty in the litter box, he just needed a living space larger than a litter box! How could we know his ability to successfully potty train when his entire home was only the size of an xl litter box?
It's our desire to help rabbit owners begin in the right place with their rabbit care so that no time is wasted in their bonding, or in the enjoyment of life and freedom their bunny can have!
Tiff and Tom's Rabbitry is aware of the need to keep rabbits out of shelters. This is why all of our rabbits come with a lifetime guarantee of our commitment to them. While all sales are final if your rabbit is not a good fit for your family we'll help you do the work of finding them a new home. If we have space at our rabbitry we will take them back and care for them until they can be placed in a new home. If we don't have space we will advertise your bunny and vet the families that will be adopting it. While we won't require a rehoming fee we welcome donations to help with their care while working to re-home them.
