But First...
Why So Expensive?
As of January 2019, in the state of California, it's illegal for pet stores to sell rabbits. However, there are two legal ways to bring a rabbit into your home; rescuing from a shelter (which we very much support!), and adopting from a breeder.
Responsibly breeding rabbits is a lifestyle with daily demands of time and hard work. While our prices may seem high, they reflect only in part the amount of commitment we invest in each and every one of our rabbits. Our prices are set to deter impulse purchasing and to encourage a lifestyle of commitment and proper care. We also price our rabbits according to breed, color, and show potential. We will not let a rabbit go (even mixed) for under $100. Our prices range between $100-$400. We do offer a 10% discount when two are purchased together for the purpose of bonding them. Rabbits are exotic animals and require exotic vets. They're not cheap to feed and care for in ongoing ways. The price on the front end is only the beginning of what it takes to responsibly care for rabbits. |
Our rabbits come with lifetime support from us and a lifetime guarantee that if they're no longer a good fit for your family we'll help you find them a new home. If we have space at our rabbitry we will take them back and care for them until they can be placed in a new home. If we don't have space we will advertise your bunny and vet the families that will be adopting it. While we won't require a rehoming fee we welcome donations to help with their care while working to re-home them.
When you purchase one of our rabbits we'll provide you with printed material to help you in various areas of rabbit care. We'll also provide you with transition pellets, hay, a birth certificate, information on local exotic vets, and a baby blanket with the smell of their littermates and momma. |
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
We do not offer same day adoptions. We will not rush the adoption process. If you are in need of a rabbit "immediately" we are not going to be a good fit for you.
We do not merely sell our rabbits, we adopt them out.
What this means is that you cannot purchase a rabbit from us with the intent of surprising someone else. We vet our families carefully and will only adopt out to those who will be responsible for the care of the bunny after we've worked together to ensure both parties are comfortable with the adoption. We will work with those gifting bunnies to others only when the other party is aware and involved. We will only accept an adoption application directly from the family receiving the gift.
Bunnies used for breeding will only go to reputable and educated breeders.
There is a lot that goes into breeding bunnies and every time a doe becomes pregnant there is a lot to be aware of to protect her life and the life of her babies. We love our rabbits and will not risk their health and well being. If you are interested in bunnies for breeding please see our Application for Breeders
Adopting Male & Female
We will only offer male & female babies together on a case by case basis and will require a signed guarantee that they will be kept separate until one or both are neutered or spayed unless you are an approved breeder.
Easter Policy
The release of available bunnies around the Easter holiday will be on a case by case basis for families who've provided an application and deposit one month prior. All other available bunnies will be released after the holiday, though we will accept adoption applications and deposits to hold bunnies until this time. A staggering amount of bunnies sold as Easter gifts are abandoned or die within their first year of life. Bunnies are a big expense and a big commitment (10+ years), if it's one you are seriously interested in please be patient with us around Easter as we advocate for the responsible care of these amazing animals.
Pick of the Litter Club
The adoption process is greatly streamlined with our "Pick of the Litter Club". If you'd like to be placed on this priority waitlist please let us know. After filling out an adoption application we will reach out to you and if after communicating about the application both parties agree to adoption you can submit a non-refundable $10 fee per rabbit you intend to adopt and you'll be placed on a priority waitlist.
Once the rabbits are old enough for reserving, and after breeder's choices are made, you will be notified in the order you sign up and will have 24 hours to choose your rabbit before we move on to the next person on the list. We do not do meet ups with unweaned babies and we are a closed rabbitry so be sure you're OK choosing your rabbit without meeting them first before you sign up for the Pick of the Litter Club. Once we move through this list reservations are then opened to the public. If we do not have a rabbit of the gender you are looking for when it's your turn to pick, your $10 fee can be rolled over onto a priority list for the next upcoming litter for the breed you're looking for.
Please note that you cannot purchase waitlist spots on multiple litters to give yourself more options if you only intend to adopt one rabbit.
Unless you are an experienced breeder and we have an understanding between us about your intentions, we will not sell a male and a female together except on a case by case basis and we will require a signed guarantee that you will spay/neuter the bunnies and keep them separate until the procedures are done.

Reservations and Deposits
All reservations require a completed Adoption Application, communication with us regarding your understanding of rabbit care, and a non-refundable deposit of $50 per rabbit which is applied toward the total cost of the rabbit(s). If you choose to adopt two rabbits together for the purpose of bonding them we offer a 10% discount off the total price.
Deposits must be applied toward specific rabbits and cannot be rolled over onto other rabbits due to preference changes. At the time of pick-up we will receive the final payment before releasing the rabbit. Acceptable forms of payment include Zelle, Venmo, and Cash (Please bring exact amount. For security purposes we do not bring cash to meet-ups). We will not accept checks of any kind.
We cannot hold a rabbit for you without first receiving your deposit and we will not accept your deposit without first receiving the application. A submitted adoption application does not hold a rabbit. While a rabbit may be available at the time of your submitted application, if you do not respond to our reply and place a deposit on the bunny it remains available to the first family with a completed application and a submitted deposit.
Deposits will hold a rabbit for up to one week post-release date (this date is subject to vary based on how the rabbit is responding to the weaning process. We want to ensure we've done all we can to reduce the risk of weaning enteritis). If the rabbit is already weaned and is immediately available, the deposit will hold it for up to one week after we receive it.
In the event that you need us to hold the rabbit longer, and should we have the space to do so, we will need to collect the total amount due along with a $15/week boarding fee. We will also require a mutually agreed upon pick-up date. After this date if you have not picked up your rabbit, or made new arrangements with us submitting payment for the additional boarding, it will be republished as available.
We are not veterinarians therefore the gender of the rabbit is not guaranteed. We do gender checks regularly but cannot be confident until they're older. For this reason when you give a deposit to hold a young rabbit you do assume risk that the gender will not be what is originally expected. If this happens we cannot refund the deposit but in this particular case you can roll it over onto another available rabbit if you have not already purchased and taken home the original rabbit.

Pick up or Delivery
Tiff and Tom's is a closed rabbitry. We meet our clients at the local Tractor Supply in Calimesa, CA. This is a great public location as it's just off the freeway, easy to find, and the parking lot is well lit. It's also a great place to find any last minute supplies for your bun (there is a feed store behind Tractor Supply where Hay can be purchased in large quantity at a great price should you decide to do so).
We do not currently work with transport services but we are willing to meet at a local airport at a mutually agreed upon time for an additional fee of $40 for the San Bernardino International Airport, $60 for Ontario International Airport , and $75 for Palm Springs International Airport.
NOT ALL AIRLINES ALLOW RABBITS: If you plan to fly home with your rabbit please be aware that not all airlines allow rabbits in the cabin. Even those that do allow other pets will sometimes exclude rabbits. Please be sure that any airline you book with knows you are flying with a rabbit. We know that Frontier Airlines does allow rabbits in the cabin. Here is their policy on Flying with Pets.

Return Policy & Refunds:
We are committed to keeping our rabbits out of shelters and to protecting them from being released to the wild. While all sales are final -with the exception of our health guarantee (see below)- if your rabbit is not a good fit for your family we will work with you to find it a new home; no questions asked. If we have space at our rabbitry we will take them back and care for them until they can be placed in a new home. If we don't have space we will advertise your bunny and vet the families that will be adopting it. While we won't require a rehoming fee we welcome donations to help with the care of any bunnies we take in while working to re-home them.

Health Commitment:
All weaned babies will have been weaned for no less than one week before leaving our home to be sure they've handled the weaning process well. They will be provided with probiotics during the weaning process to strengthen their gut. We recommend you purchase the brand we use (see our recommended products page) and keep them on it during their transition to your home.
All of our bunnies are groomed and inspected (eyes, ears, teeth, health of genitals checked, scent glands cleaned, gender re-check, nails trimmed, coat brushed out) before releasing them into your care. It hasn't occurred yet, but we will not release a rabbit that has developed a medical concern- even if they've been reserved and their release date arrives. A transition is a stressful thing on a bunny of any age let alone a baby. Adding a transition to any kind of health treatment is a bad idea.
Rabbits are fragile and it doesn't take much to stress them out which can cause health problems. Once our bunnies leave us we are entrusting them to you in hopes that you and your family will have educated yourselves about this fragile time and will be gentle, calm, not loud or startling, and not trying to hold or carry a frightened bunny around before it's used to its new home. You want to see your rabbit eating, drinking, and going potty well before you try to begin bonding. Bonding should precede trying to hold and snuggle a rabbit. Please see our Learning Resources page for more on that. Rabbits who are afraid will stop eating and this can put them in GI stasis which can be deadly in as little as 24 hours.
Since their transition environment is out of our hands as soon as they leave our home Tiff and Tom's Rabbitry cannot offer a refund for a rabbit that becomes stressed or sick. Again, we will not let them leave here sick. We also will not assume responsibility for any vet bills once the bunny has left our care.
However, we are available to help you with any questions that may come up as you care for your bunny and we do offer lots of resources on our website. We always recommend you research rabbit first aid needs and be prepared before any issues may arise during the life of your bunny. Allthingsbunnies.com is a great resource for that.
If an issue arrises that we don't have an answer to we will work with you to find an answer. We love these bunnies and want to help you provide them with the best care possible!
